Four killed, dozens wounded in twin bomb attack on Egyptian military headquarters in Sinai

Islamabad , Wed, 11 Sep 2013 ANI

Islamabad, Sept. 11 (ANI): A twin bomb attack on Egyptian military headquarters in Sinai has led to the deaths of at least four people and injuries to dozens, official sources said.

The first bomb went off near the military headquarters in Rafah, followed by another explosion at an army checkpoint minutes later, the Express Tribune reports.

According to the report, a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into the security headquarters of the intelligence facility.

Security officials said the front of the one-story building in Rafah has collapsed and the number of troops and policemen buried underneath the rubble was still unspecified.

The attacks come just days after an Al-Qaeda inspired group in the Arabian Peninsula claimed responsibility for a Cairo bombing, which targeted the interior minister last week.

The frequency of attacks has increased manifold since President Mohamed Morsi was ousted on 3 July by the military. (ANI)
