Havana, Sep 10 (IANS) Cuban pole vaulter Yarisley Silva, runner-up at the London Olympics, said here that she wants to win the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Poland in March 2014.

Silva said Monday that she still has to improve her marks and to surpass the five-metre height, reports Xinhua.

"I still have to improve my technique and keep my training strong to reach the five-metre height. I think it is possible to do it. I don't know it will be next year or in future," said Silva.

Silva said she was satisfied with her 2013 results, such as the bronze medal she won at the World Championships in Moscow, second position in the Diamond League where she broke her personal best.

"I am very happy for the season since this year I have beaten all my records and I won a medal in Moscow despite the problems I had during my training, 15 days before the competition," she said.

About her performance in the Diamond League, the Guadalajara 2011 Pan-American Champion said she arrived very tired since she took part in 21 previous competitions. Silva was defeated by German Silke Spiegelburg in the last round of the competition in Zurich, Switzerland.

"Until the end I made all the effort to win Diamonds' but I feel happy for climbing the podium," she added.
