Melbourne ranked world's most liveable city third time in row

Sydney, Aug. 28 (ANI): The city of Melbourne has stood still at its global top position for being the 'most liveable city' for the third time in a row pushing down Austrian capital Vienna to number two position.

The ranking has done by The Economist Intelligence Unit Survey after review of 140 cities and gave Victoria's capital perfect scores for health care, education and infrastructure.

According to Sydney Morning Herald, four other Australian cities making to the top 10 include Adelaide at number five, Sydney positioned at number seven and Perth at number nine.

The least of liveable cities around the world is Damascus in war-torn Syria followed by Tehran at number two, Tripoli at number four, Karachi at number five , Algiers, Harare and Dhaka at number five, six and ten respectively.

The report said that conflict was responsible for many of the lowest scores as Damascus was ranked the lowest scoring just 20 percent for stability. (ANI)
