Bobby Jindal 'rejects' Obama impeachment calls from fellow Republicans

Washington, Mon, 26 Aug 2013 ANI

Washington, Aug. 26 (ANI): Indian-origin Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has said he disagrees with many of President Barack Obama's policies, but it's not time to kick him out of office through the impeachment process.

The Republican governor told NBC's 'Meet the Press' that he rejected that kind of talks, adding that they should be doing that for Obama.

According to the Washington Times, Jindal was responding to long-shot talk of drawing up impeachment charges against Obama, an idea that has surfaced among conservative lawmakers.

At a meeting on Wednesday in Muskogee, Senator Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Republican, called Obama 'a personal friend', but he warned that the scandals dogging the White House have put the president 'perilously close' to impeachment.

Much of the speculation over impeachment has centered on the administration's handling of the terrorist attacks in Benghazi, Libya, and the Internal Revenue Service's targeting of conservative political groups, the report added. (ANI)
