Milan, Aug 25 (IANS) AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri said he was unhappy with his side's 1-2 loss to newly promoted Verona.
Andrea Poli put the visitors ahead in the first half before Luca Toni spoiled their party by scoring two headers either side of the break Saturday, reports Xinhua.
"We played badly at football, badly as a team and should' ve controlled the ball better," he said.
"We reanimated Verona, who had until then been struggling. We played badly and Verona amply deserved the victory, so this has to make us reflect. We must play with more determination to bring home the results," he said.
The 46-year-old went on to praise veteran striker Toni, who marked Verona's first Serie A game in 11 years with a classy double.
"I offer congratulations to Toni," he said.
"He fought like a lion between the two central defenders and he serves as an example to our kids," he added.
