Manila, Aug 3 (IANS) India lost their third Group D match 67-80 against Kazakhstan here Saturday at the 27th Asian Men's Basketball Championship.
Kazakhstan managed to top Group D with three wins out of three, reports Xinhua.
Mikhail Yevstigneyev had 21 points for Kzazkhstan and Jerri Johnson took 16. Rustam Yargaliyev and Anton Ponomarev also chipped in with 13 and 11 points respectively.
Vishesh Bhriguvanshi was India's top scorer with 19 points followed by Narender Kumar Grewal with 14 points and Joginder Singh with 10.
Due to this loss, India will have to wait for the result between Thailand and Bahrain later in the day to see where they stand in the group.
If Bahrain beat Thailand, India will automatically qualify. Thailand need to beat Bahrain by a huge margin to have any chance of qualifying for the next round.
The top three teams of every group advance to the next round.
