Rome, July 28 (IANS) Italian football club Napoli officially announced the signing of Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid.
The club released a statement on its offical website Saturday reading: "SSC Napoli officialise the signing of Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentine striker, aged 26, arrives from Real Madrid."
The deal had been completed several days ago, but was only formalised Saturday, reports Xinhua.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has also confirmed the news on Twitter.
"This morning we signed the contract with Higuain. As soon as I have a moment, I'll show you a wonderful photograph we took," he said.
