Medellin (Colombia), July 27 (IANS/EFE) The gates of Troy opened to present the latest collection of Colombia's Renata Lozano at the close of the 2013 Colombiamoda fashion fair, with the finishing touches provided by Silvia Tcherassi.
With a sober production and with the Medellin Museum of Modern Art as the backdrop, Tcherassi excited the audience with an elegant collection that marked her maturity as a designer and whose every article delighted the assembled fashionistas with their subtle nuances.
Embroidery with Swarovski crystal, silver, colourful sequins and gold-coloured floral patterns made up the first part of the collection, leading to dresses that brought back the Charleston with fringes to the feet or with form-fitting silhouettes.
Earlier in the show, Renata Lozano made the Trojan horse her icon for the spring-summer collection with a combination of ecru and gold that progressively evolved into blue and pink tones, to conclude with upbeat prints with motifs from the Greek classic.
Dresses slung from a single shoulder, waists highlighed with the recurrent use of belts, palazzo pants and light dresses with a floaty movement were some of the features Lozano paraded on the runway.
Under the title "Cause and Effect", the 24th Colombiamoda closed with a 36-percent increase in business opportunities over the previous year, organizers said.
