Cold War missile silo near Lake Placid converted into luxurious $3 M property

New York , Thu, 25 Jul 2013 ANI

New York, July 25 (ANI): A missile storage facility from the Cold War has been converted into a luxury property and is now up for sale for a hefty price tag of more than 3 million dollars.

The New York State home, which boasts a runway for a private jet, hangar and spacious living quarters, looks like a normal home from the surface, the New York Daily News reported.

However, upon entering a code, it descends down into the former launch control centre for missiles from the Cold War.

The property in the Adirondack State Park near Lake Placid, N.Y. has been turned into a two-level residence, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open living area and kitchen.

The Silohome was developed by Bruce James Franscio and his partner Gregory Gibbons.

Franscio, a former pilot, bought the missile silo with his partner in the early 1990's, where it had spent 30 years underwater and needed cleaning and renovating. (ANI)
