Sydney, July 23 (ANI): The European Union's decision to blacklist Hezbollah's armed wing as a terror group has been denounced by Shiite Iran, after the European body accused the wing of acting in Israel's interests.
According to the Courier Mail, Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that Iran strongly denounces the EU decision and believes it is in line with the illegitimate interests of the Zionist regime, adding that the body took this wrong decision due to lack of correct judgment about the regional crisis.
He added that the action was against the Lebanese people since Hezbollah has put up a legitimate defence against the Zionists' aggressions.
Iran and Hezbollah are both sworn enemies of Israel and the Lebanese Shi'ite group has received Tehran's moral, financial and military support since its inception and Hezbollah fought a bitter war with Israel in 2006, the report added. (ANI)
