Lahore, July 4 (IANS) Pakistan one-day captain Misbahul Haq and Twenty20 skipper Mohammad Hafeez have said they would take the responsibility for the team's showing on the forthcoming tour of the West Indies and that an effort would be made to inspire the players to succeed in both the formats of the game.
The teams for both the formats have been finalised on a performance-based formula, keeping the importance of the tour in mind, the two told reporters at the Gadaffi Stadium here Wednesday, reports the Daily Times.
The two senior pros accepted the responsibility for the team's poor showing in the Champions Trophy in England and attributed it to the failure of their batting top-order.
"There is no doubt that we acquitted poorly in the Champions Trophy and I accept the responsibility for it, and I will be doing so even on the tour of the West Indies," Misbah added.
He said the conditions in the West Indies should suit the Pakistani attack and the batsmen should demonstrate a higher level of skill and commitment to provide support for the bowlers.
