Sydney Morning Herald's digital services to become paid

Sydney , Tue, 02 Jul 2013 ANI

Sydney, July 2 (ANI): Australia's oldest newspaper, The Sydney Morning Herald has decided to introduce a subscription model for its digital products, whether online or on tablets, with charges being required after the free 30 articles per month.

According to the newspaper, the home page of the news website will remain the same and people would be able to visit it as often as they liked, promising to continue the excellent services that the paper has been offering for the last 180 years.

The editorial said that readers were known to buy the paper for the award-winning investigative stories of Kate McClymont, expert economic analysis of Ross Gittins, Good Weekend, Spectrum and Fitzy's Saturday Sports Column.

Digital subscriptions were required to keep up the quality of journalism that the Sydney Morning Herald was capable of, the editorial added. (ANI)
