Islamabad, June 9 (ANI): US' National Security Agency (NSA) has collected second highest amount of digital data from Pakistan with the help of a data-mining tool.

The tool called Boundless Informant, allows the agency to record and analyze the digital data collected from a number of nations included in its spying list.

According to The Express Tribune, the collected data include details about country wise amount of information gathered from telephone and computer networks.

The data for March 2013 has 13.5 billion intelligence reports from Pakistan over a month's duration making it the second highest and Iran leading the list with 14 billion reports.

Jordan stands third with 12.7 billion, followed by Egypt with 7.6 billion and India at fifth with 6.3 billion reports.

According to the report, 3 billion reports were collected from the American computer networks in the same period.

US President Barack Obama staunchly defended the spy agency's surveillance programs and assured American citizens that their phone calls were not snooped, the report added. (ANI)
