London, May 23 (ANI): UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and India-origin PepsiCo chief Indra Nooyi figure among the top 10 in the list of most powerful women globally.
Gandhi is ranked ninth, while Nooyi is ranked at 10th on the list of world's 100 most powerful women leaders compiled by Forbes magazine for 2013.
ICICI Bank Managing Director and chief executive Chanda Kochhar is ranked 65th and Biocon Founder Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw has secured the 85th position on the global list.
Cisco Systems Chief Technology and Strategy Officer India-born Padmasree Warrior is ranked 57th.
The 100 most influential women list is made from seven categories or power bases: billionaires, business, lifestyle (including entertainment and fashion), media, nonprofits and NGOs, politics and technology.
To determine the rank within each category, as well as overall rank on the list of 100, three metrics are applied: money, media presence and impact.
German chancellor Angela Merkel has been named as the most powerful woman in the world for the third successive year.
Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff was ranked second with Melinda Gates, co-chairman of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation in third.
Other women who made it to the list include Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg at 6th position, Christine IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde at 7th, Oprah Winfrey at 13th and Aung San Suu Kyi at 29th. (ANI)
