Hero MotoCorp enters Central America

New Delhi, May 14 (IANS) Two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp Tuesday launched products in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

The company has partnered with the Indy Motos Group of Guatemala as the authorised distributor in the three Central American countries, Hero MotoCorp said in a release here.

Showcasing the products in Guatemala City, Hero MotoCorp said the launch indicated the significant role that markets in Central America and Latin America would play in the company's global expansion plans.

"This launch is a significant milestone for us considering this is the first of the new international markets where we are starting our operations," said Pawan Munjal, managing director and chief executive, Hero MotoCorp.

According to the company release, the range of Hero two-wheelers being launched in these markets include Hunk, Karizma, Glamour, HF Dawn, Splendor NXG, Super Splendor and Achiever.

The company added that it will soon commence operations in other international markets in Latin America, Central America and Africa in order to reach the stated objective of 10 percent of its total volumes from international business in the next four to five years.

Hero MotoCorp currently exports to several countries, including Colombia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
