New Delhi, May 3 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid left on a three day visit to Iran on Friday.
Khurshid is visiting Teheran to co-chair the 17th session of India-Iran Joint Commission meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi.
The meeting is aimed at expanding bilateral ties and mutual co-operation between the two countries.
India and Iran have been holding discussions at regular intervals on issues related to economic co-operation under the Joint Commission mechanism which was set up in 1983.
The last meeting of the JCM was held in 2010 in New Delhi.
During his visit, Khurshid will also inaugurate the Indian Cultural Center in Teheran and interact with the Indian community in Teheran.
He will also visit the Iranian city of Isfahan. (ANI)
