Obama walks back 'chemical weapons use in Syria would be game-changer' statement

Washington , Wed, 01 May 2013 ANI

Washington, May. 1 (ANI): President Barack Obama said that when he said chemical-weapons use in Syria would be a 'game-changer', he meant for the entire international community, not just the United States.

He said that what was happening in Syria was a blemish on the international community generally.

According to Politico, Obama said he is waiting for more evidence that chemical weapons were used in Syria and he hoped the international community could be mobilized against the threat, if it is proven.

Obama reiterated that the United States is the largest humanitarian donor to the Syrian people and has continued to provide non-lethal assistance to the opposition, the report added. (ANI)
