London, Apr. 28 (ANI): The Duchess of Cambridge has given her first ever video message online to appeal for support for a campaign for children's hospices.

The campaign, which runs until Friday, is being run by UK children's palliative care charity Together for Short Lives.

In the video, which lasts just under two minutes, Kate, who is Patron of East Anglia's Children's Hospices, said that she has seen first-hand the "transformational" work done for the kids and their families, Sky News reported.

She asserted that there are 49 children's hospice services across the UK, all of which provide similar invaluable and life-enhancing care to thousands of families.

Kate said that Children's Hospice Week is a time to recognise, celebrate and support the inspirational work of those hospices, and those who provide palliative care to these kids and families.

The 31-year-old royal said that children hospices provide lifelines to families at a time of unimaginable pain and the support, which they give is vital. (ANI)
