Pak election commission orders to 'remove extra security provided to Sharifs'

Islamabad, Apr 13 (ANI): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has ordered the Punjab government to withdraw extraordinary official security provided to PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif.

The ECP has directed the government to withdraw the additional security and submit a report about it.

The government was asked to provide them security according to the law, the Daily times reports.

The PPP has alleged that 761 officials are deputed on security duty of Sharif brothers and their family members, against official permission.

The security officials include 317 from the Elite Force, 302 from police force, 108 from Punjab Constabulary and 34 officials of the district police.

According to the report, a spokesperson of the CCPO office said the city police had provided them security according to law as former prime minister of Pakistan and former Punjab chief minister. (ANI)
