Turkey,Crime/Disaster/Accident, Tue, 09 Apr 2013 IANS

Tehran, April 9 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale struck Iran's Bushehr province Tuesday, with initial reports saying at least three people were killed and the toll could rise.

The temblor, having its epicentre at a depth of 12 km, jolted Kaki city of the province in the afternoon. It was followed by two aftershocks of magnitude 5.3 and 4.4 in the city, Xinhua reported.

Rostami, deputy governor of Bushehr province, said the casualties could rise due to large expanse of the quake-hit region.

Tremor was felt in Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant but work in the complex did not disrupt, as the plant is about 70 km from the quake's epicentre, local media reported.
