Malala gets Freedom of Expression Award in UK

Islamabad, Mar 22 (ANI): Pakistani teenage women education activist Malala Yousafzai has been given Freedom of Expression Award in Britain.

Malala, who raised voice for female education, was shot and critically injured by Taliban last year in Swat.

Malala, who was severely injured in the head, has started attending school after recovery, the Nation reports.

According to the paper, a simple and dignified ceremony was arranged by an organisation known as Index for giving award, but Malala herself could not attend the ceremony.

Malala's father Ziauddin Yousafzai, received the 'Freedom of Expression Award' on behalf of his daughter. (ANI)
