Nove Mesto (Czech Republic), Feb 16 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Norway took a sixth gold medal from eight available at the world biathlon championships with a victory in the women's 4 x 6-kilometre relay.
The team, anchored by overall World Cup leader Tora Berger, finished the Czech course in Nove Mesto in an hour, eight minutes, 11 seconds to take the gold by seven seconds from Ukraine Friday.
Italy claimed the bronze ahead of a strong Russian squad that featured two-time Olympic champion Olga Zaitseva.
It was a fourth gold at these world championships for the 31-year-old Berger, who also triumphed in the opening mixed relay, the 15km individual race and the 10km pursuit, eclipsing her three-gold haul from Ruhpolding last year.
The men's relay is later Saturday with the mass start races wrapping up the championships Sunday.
