Rio de Janeiro, Feb 7 (IANS) Brazil's Palmeiras is close to signing former international striker Kleber on a one-year loan deal from Portuguese football club Porto.
The Brazilian underwent a medical examination in Sao Paulo Wednesday and officials expect him to sign with the Brazilian club within days, reports Xinhua.
"Negotiations are advanced and we only need to sort out some contractual details," Palmeiras executive director Jose Carlos Brunoro said.
"In Portugal there were four teams chasing him so we are delighted that he has chosen us ahead of them," he said.
The 22-year-old has scored nine goals in 22 matches since arriving at Porto in July 2011 from Atletico Mineiro. He has won two international caps for Brazil, both in 2011 under former national coach Mano Menezes.
