French college students formed 'rape club' to simulate 'mass sex attack on feminists'

London, Feb. 7 (ANI): A sexist club at the former elite French college of shamed ex-IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn advocated gang rape and suggested carrying out a simulated sexual attack on a feminist organisation.

Eight men will face a disciplinary panel at the Bordeaux Branch of the Institute of Political Studies, part of the Sciences Po network of institutes famous for educating many of the country's political and business leaders, reports the Daily Mail.

The men were members of the group Osez Le Masculism (Dare to Choose Masculism). When the group's leaders asked its 45-odd members to vote on Facebook as to whether or not they approved of gang rape, a majority replied that they did.

Outraged feminists groups believe the scandal is evidence of institutional sexism among France's future political and business leaders.

A spokesman for Osez le Feminisme (Dare to Choose Feminism) called it "totally unacceptable".

However college spokesman Jean Petaux, said the male group consisted of a small number of 'idiots who want to make anti-conformism their religion' and whose 'only aim is to shock'.

Petaux admitted it was unlikely that any of the men would be expelled, but added that if the club's founders were tracked down, they could face charges of 'sexual harassment and distorting the Sciences Po logo'.

Sciences Po graduates include current French President Francois Hollande, former presidents Nicolas Sarkozy, Jaques Chirac and Francois Mitterandas, chairman of Air France Jean-Cyril Spinett and designer Christian Dior. (ANI)
