Islamabad, Jan 19 (IANS) A 21-year-old man in Pakistan's port city of Karachi killed himself after shooting his cousin dead after the woman turned down his marriage proposal, police said.
The bodies of Waqas-ur Rahman and his 20-year-old cousin Madiha were found Friday in the house of the woman's father, Raz Khan Marwat, in Baloch Colony area, the News International reported.
On hearing gunshots, neighbours rushed to the house and saw the two people in a pool of blood and informed police.
Police confirmed the deceased were cousins. Waqas was in love with Madiha and took the extreme step after she spurned his proposal.
Waqas came to the woman's house Friday and went into the room of his cousin. He drew a pistol on Madiha and shot her, killing her on the spot. He then put the pistol on his temple and committed suicide, police said.
