Islamabad, Jan. 9 (ANI): The body of an abducted member of Pakistan's Sikh community was found in Chora area of the Khyber Agency, according to tribal and official sources.
Sources said unknown armed persons kidnapped Mohinder Singh from his shop of herbal medicines in Tabia area of Bazaar valley in Khyber Agency on November 20, reports The News.
His brother Daswant Singh said that after the abduction, they approached the pro- government Zakhakhel tribal militia named as Tauheedul Islam (TI) for Mohinder's recovery, but they showed ignorance about the whereabouts of his brother.
Daswant said he had also sent an application to Mutahir Zeb, Political Agent of the Khyber Agency, on December 13 to seek his support, adding that the official assured them that Mohinder would be recovered within a week.
Daswant, a member of Kamerkhel Afridi tribe, said they are loyal citizens of Pakistan and have no enmity with anyone. The body of his brother had been mutilated and beyond recognition, he added.
Mohinder, who was diabetic, has left behind a wife and 9 children, including a polio-affected son. Daswant has demanded that the government protect the minorities and announce compensation for the bereaved family. (ANI)
