Rio De Jenario, Jan 6 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A cat has been caught while trying to slip through the gates of a Brazilian prison with numerous tools taped to its body, a media report said.
Spotted by jail guards in Brazil's Arapiraca city, the white cat was caught while carrying an earphone, a memory card, batteries and a phone charger.
"An agent saw the cat and went to look at it closely because something about it seemed wrong," the head of the prison guards' union, Marcelo Avelino, told the O Globo newspaper.
The cat was raised by the prisoners, and relatives often took it after a prison visit.
The guards said they were surprised by the new tactic of the prisoners, who trained the cat to return to the prison with the materials.
The animal was later sent to an animal centre.
