One killed, 32 injured in Karachi explosion

Islamabad, Jan 2 (ANI): At least one person has been killed and 32 were injured in a massive blast in Karachi, Pakistan.

The blast took place at about 7:26 p.m.local time on Tuesday in Karachi's Federal B Area locality.

According to a local TV channel, the bomb was planted in a motorcycle.

Following the blast, part of the many buildings collapsed and caught fire, the Daily Times reports.

According to the report, the blast also damaged a motorcycle, a taxi, a rickshaw and pushcarts and stalls, smashing windowpanes of several nearby buildings.

The condition of several injured persons, who had sustained severe burn wounds, was stated to be critical, the report added. (ANI)
