Alcohol-smuggling attempt foiled in UAE

Abu Dhabi, Jan 1 (IANS/WAM) An attempt to smuggle a total of 216 bottles of alcohol out of the UAE was foiled at the Al Ghuwaifat border.

Customs inspectors arrested the driver of the truck carrying the bottles, hidden inside the vehicle's tool box.

While passing through the specified path for empty and unloaded trucks, customs inspectors told the vehicle to go through a radiation detection device that showed the existence of smuggled goods.
