Jakarta, Dec 11 (IANS) India and Indonesia have agreed to cooperate in the fisheries sector, particularly in processing, marketing and research and development.
The first meeting of the India-Indonesia Joint Technical Committee on Fisheries Cooperation was held here.
The Indian delegation was led by Tarun Shridhar, joint secretary, department of animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries, according to the Indian embassy in Jakarta.
Officials from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, National Fisheries Development Board and Marine Product Export Development Authority also took part in the discussions.
The Indonesian side was headed by Gellwynn Jusuf, secretary general, ministry of marine affairs and fisheries.
The two sides discussed in details issues related to technical aspects, investment, marketing, research and development.
The next meeting of the committee will be held in October-November next year in India.
