Six die in South African bridge collapse

Johannesburg, Dec 11 (IANS) Six people were killed and five injured when a bridge collapsed in eastern South Africa, media reports said Tuesday.

The accident occurred in the eastern Mpumalanga province as the bridge on the road R65 suddenly collapsed due to heavy rain Monday night, reported Xinhua citing the South African Press Association.

Safety department spokesperson Joseph Mabuza said three vehicles crashed into the collapsed bridge.
