Sao Paulo, Dec 8 (IANS/EFE) Brazil's automotive sector turned out 301,679 units in November, down 5.3 percent from the previous month but a 10.5 percent increase from November 2011, a vehicle-producers association said Friday.
Production of cars and light commercial vehicles fell 5.4 percent from October levels to 285,642 units, while truck output slipped 6.8 percent to 11,822 units.
Vehicle sales were off 8.7 percent in November from the previous month and by 3 percent interannually.
Brazilian vehicle plants produced 3.08 million units in the first 11 months of the year, a decline of 2.1 percent from the same period in 2011, Anfavea vehicle-producers association said.
While domestic vehicle sales from Jan 1-Nov 30 were 4.8 percent higher than last year.
Brazil exported $1.23 billion worth of cars and trucks in November, down 10.2 percent from the previous month and by nearly 16 percent from November 2011.
Year-to-date vehicle exports stood at $13.66 billion, a decline of 8.2 percent from the first 11 months of 2011.
Brazil has the world's fifth-biggest auto industry.
