India may be a market for heat?resistant chocolate

United Kingdom,Business/Economy, Sun, 25 Nov 2012 IANS

London, Nov 25 (IANS) Chocolate giant Cadbury has filed a patent for a treat that will not melt, even at 40 degrees Celsius, and hopes to sell it in hot countries like Brazil and India.

The company said the secret to the non?melting chocolate is to reduce the fat content, the Daily Express reported.

Traditionally, chocolates have sugar particles that are coated in fat which makes them less heat resistant.

The daily said Cadbury has found a way to cut fat without losing texture or taste.

"We have found it is possible to instil more favourable temperature tolerant properties into a chocolate," a spokesman said.
