Romney campaign cut off funds, credit cards of aides on Election Night post Obama's victory

Washington, Sat, 10 Nov 2012 ANI

Washington, Nov. 10 (ANI): In wake of Mitt Romney's defeat in the 2012 presidential elections, his campaign organizers are now tying up loose ends, including conserving the cash it accumulated in the last few months and also finding new work for staffers.

"I have 400 people to get great jobs for," the New York Daily News quoted Romney, as telling a supporter when asked if he would take a post-campaign vacation.

According to the report, Team Romney acted fast to sever its staff's access to campaign funds after the Republican candidate's crushing defeat by President Obama.

It has been learnt that his campaign aides took cabs home late on Election Night after they found that their campaign-issued credit cards had already been cut off.

The campaign's Boston headquarters was also mostly packed by the end of the day, the report said.

But while the Romney may have cut off their credit cards, he isn't cutting his staff loose entirely.

According to The Washington Post, when a supporter asked Romney if he planned a post-campaign vacation, the Republican reportedly said he would be "really busy." (ANI)
