Japan's industrial output falls

Tokyo, Oct 30 (IANS) Japan's industrial production fell a seasonally adjusted 4.1 percent in September from the previous month, declining for the third consecutive month, according to government data released Tuesday.

The index of output at factories and mines stood at 86.5 against the base of 100 for 2005, according to a preliminary report released by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

The index of industrial shipments fell 4.4 percent to 87.5 while that of inventories dropped 0.9 percent to 107.8, reported Xinhua.
