Sydney, Oct 27(ANI): Australian state New South Wales (NSW) Premier Barry O'Farrell has said he will use his second official visit to India to endorse the state's strengths in education, mineral resources, IT and financial services.
O'Farrell will fly out on Saturday for a one-week trade mission to Mumbai, Hyderabad and New Delhi, where he will meet with senior government officials and business leaders.
The Premier said trade between the NSW and India was valued at 1.93 billion dollars in the 2010/11 financial year, which is almost double the amount of five years earlier.
"I believe there are many opportunities for further growth," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted O'Farrell, as saying in a statement.
"I will be building on the relationships established (on his trip) last year and promoting NSW's infrastructure plan, our strengths in infrastructure and construction, education, mineral resources, financial services and ICT (information and communications technology)," he added.
"During the mission, I will be working with 11 NSW companies and organisations to assist them in advancing their business interests in this vital market," he said.
O'Farrell added: "India's expanding middle-class and rapidly urbanising cities also mean there are opportunities for NSW businesses and institutions to meet the country's demands for more products and services, especially in education, infrastructure and financial services." (ANI)
