Pak appoints new envoys to China, France

Islamabad, Oct. 26 (ANI): Pakistan's Masood Khalid and Ghalib Iqbal have been appointed Ambassadors to China and France respectively.

Ambassador Khalid will replace Masood Khan in Beijing who has already moved to New York where he has been posted as Permanent Representative to the UN.

Iqbal, who was the Pakistan Government's Chief of Protocol for more than four years, will replace Shafkat Saeed who has been in Paris for more than four years after attaining superannuation.

The two envoys are the senior most in their respective cadres and the two capitals are being informed about the decision for seeking their formal consent, reports The News.

Khalid served as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Korea (2005-2007). He was Additional Secretary (Asia Pacific) at Headquarters from June 2007 - August 2010, and was appointed High Commissioner in Malaysia in August 2010. (ANI)
