Washington, Oct. 18 (ANI): The US-based organization, which has been associated with a set of controversial anti-jihad Metro ads in Washington as a part of an anti-Muslim drive, is now preparing to launch a new campaign, which depicts the World Trade Center during the 9/11 attacks, alongside contentious verses from the Quran.
Pamela Geller, Executive Director of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, has opted to display the pictures along with the Quran excerpts, in a new extremely incensing ad that she has already submit to the Washington Metro Transit Authority (WMTA).
"Those who disbelieve our revelations, we shall expose them to the fire. As often as their skins are consumed, we shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment," DC News quoted the ad as stating, which appears next to a picture of the Twin Towers burning.
According to the report, Geller's new ad is in direct response to an ad launched by the Council on Islamic-American Relations (CAIR), which shows a young woman wearing a hijab, and is depicted with the words "Show forgiveness, speak for justice, ignore the ignorant."
"These are the verses that inspire jihad and I think it's important the American people understand that," Geller said.
The proposed ad marks a new round in what is becoming an escalating messaging war between Gellar and various religious groups, after the original anti-jihad ads that went up in Metro stations throughout Washington D.C. sparked an avalanche of protests from civil rights and Muslim advocacy groups.
In an email, WMATA spokesman Dan Stessel said that the Washington Metro is "working through the process" of reviewing Geller's new ads and cannot confirm whether they will be displayed, the report said. (ANI)
