Washington, Oct. 16 (ANI): President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have announced on Twitter that they both will vote early.
The first lady tweeted that she's voting absentee.
Hey, @barackobama, I just dropped my absentee ballot in the mail - I couldn't wait for Election Day! Love you! -mo
According to Politico, Obama too followed with a promise to vote early in person.
I'm following @michelleobama's example and voting early, on October 25. If your state has early voting, join me: OFA.BO/JbSUkk -bo
According to the report, the Obama campaign clarified that the president will travel to Illinois on 25 October to vote in person.
This is the first time that a presidential candidate will not vote in person on Election Day.
It's part of the overall campaign strategy of encouraging likely supporters to go to the polls early - helping the campaign focus on turnout and the logistics of making sure their supporters are registered and prepared, the report added. (ANI)
