Washington, Oct 12 (ANI): Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has expressed outrage over the Associated Press's decision to run an unflattering photo of Presidential contender Mitt Romney, saying that the US-based news agency is full of 'absolute jerks'.
When asked by a Fox News journalist whether the photo constituted media bias or a 'forgivable mistake,' Palin responded, 'it's media bias, and it's also some sexism'.
"Hell yeah, it's media bias. And it's also some sexism when you consider what the response to Mitt Romney's photo is - which is degrading and Associated Press, they're jerks for having run that, even with the caption," Politico quoted Palin, as saying.
"I mean, absolute jerks and biased to try and taint some people's view of Mitt Romney by running this photo. It's embarrassing," she added.
The picture published by AP, which showed Romney kneeling before a student at a Virginia school, attracted widespread media attention soon after hitting the wires.
The AP changed the caption on from "Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney poses for photographs with students of Fairfield Elementary School,." to "Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney poses for photographs with students of Fairfield Elementary School, Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, in Fairfield, Va. A student, right, reacts as she realizes Romney will crouch down directly in front of her and her classmates for the group photo.'
According to the report, AP Senior Vice President and Executive Editor Kathleen Carroll said the AP "fell short of our own standards" with the original caption. (ANI)
