Int'l law needed to block making of blasphemous films: Pak minister

Islamabad, Tue, 25 Sep 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Sep. 25 (ANI): Pakistan's Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira has reiterated the need for making an international law to prevent sacrilegious films from being made.

The Dawn quoted Kaira, as saying that Pakistan was the first country that registered protest at national level against the provocative anti-Islam film, which caused a furore across the Muslim world.

Kaira also said that the government had condemned the film at all forums and given the call for an OIC meeting, for effectively tackling such sensitive issues in future.

He also expressed dismay over the recent violent protests against the anti-Islam film, saying such acts undermined the government's efforts to send a strong collective message against the film. (ANI)
