Now, Romney brands Iranians 'crazy people' who could blow up Chicago with nukes

Washington, Sept. 19 (ANI): Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's White House bid has taken another blow after he described Iranians as 'crazy people' and gave details on how terrorists could bomb Chicago.

In a new secretly filmed video, he said that a pro-Iranian terrorist could threaten to blow up Chicago with a nuclear bomb.

"If I were Iran, a crazed fanatic, I'd say let's get a little fissile material to Hezbollah, have them carry it to Chicago, and then if anything goes wrong, or America starts acting up, we'll just say, "Guess what? Unless you stand down, why, we're going to let off a dirty bomb," Romney said.

"I mean this is where we have - where America could be held up and blackmailed by Iran, by the mullahs, by crazy people. So we don't have any option but to keep Iran from having a nuclear weapon," he added.

According to the Daily Mail, the most bizarre remarks ever made by a presidential candidate have been criticized by critics who have claimed they exposed America's weaknesses.

In another video, he attacked Palestinians, saying: "I look at the Palestinians not wanting to see peace anyway, committed to the destruction of Israel, and I say there's just no way [there will be peace]."

According to the report, the videos, which were recorded during a 50,000-dollar-a-plate dinner for wealthy donors in Florida, surfaced as the presidential campaign has entered its final 50 days.

Hanan Ashrawi, a Palestinian lawmaker and scholar, said Romney's remarks were 'irresponsible and dangerous'.

However, Romney has said that he stood by his remarks which he admitted were 'not elegantly stated'. (ANI)
