Pak authorities warn of 'possible attacks on US consulates' in Karachi, Peshawar

Islamabad, Sat, 15 Sep 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Sept 15 (ANI): Pakistan's Interior Ministry has issued a warning of possible attacks on US consulates in Karachi and Peshawar.

According to a letter issued to provincial governments by the Interior Ministry, there is a high risk of possible attacks on US consulates in the wake of anger spreading over an anti-Islam film.

The letter also said the homes of US consulate staff members may also be targeted, the Dawn reports.

It further stated that suicide bombings and remote control devices could also be used in a possible attack, the report said.

The warning came as protests were held in many parts of Pakistan on Friday against the anti-Islam film 'Innocence of Muslims'. (ANI)
