Pak religious party demands U.S. envoy's ouster over anti-Islam film

Lahore, Fri, 14 Sep 2012 ANI

Lahore, Sept. 14 (ANI): The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) top leadership has termed the anti-Islam film made by an Israeli-American as "religious terrorism", and has asked the Pakistan Government to expel the U.S. envoy in retaliation.

JI chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, and Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch made this demand through a joint statement. They also announced a countrywide protest against the sacrilegious film and urged the people to join the protest to demonstrate their love for the Holy Prophet, reports The Nation.

The leaders said that pastor Terry Jones, who had first indulged in desecration by setting a copy of the Holy Quran on fire, had now prepared a blasphemous film with the cooperation of Israel that contained highly derogatory material against the Holy Prophet. They said instead of checking such condemnable activities in line with the UN Charter, the U.S. and the Western governments were patronizing the blasphemer under the cover of freedom of expression.

The leaders maintained that the U.S. and the Western countries were intentionally infuriating the sentiments of the Muslims in order to plunge the world in a world war. (ANI)
