Washington, Sep 8 (ANI): President Barack Obama's speech during the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, sparked off a surge in the number of tweets on the micro-blogging platform, Twitter.
There were over 52,757 tweets per minute at the end of his speech, according to a Twitter release, Politico reported.
However, his Twindex rating, which Twitter uses to track favorability, dropped from 52 before his speech to 41 after it. Vice President Joe Biden, who also spoke tonight, saw his Twindex jump from 63 to 70.
Comparatively, GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney garnered 14,289 TPM at the conclusion of his convention speech, while his Twindex dropped eight points from 46 to 38, according to Twitter, the report said.
The president also topped his wife's 28,003 tweets per minutes following her speech Tuesday, when her husband joined her onstage. When Romney joined his wife Ann onstage after her speech, the moment drew 6,195 tweets per minute, the report added. (ANI)
