Islamabad, Sept 5 (ANI): Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that Interpol has not been approached for issuance of red warrants against General Pervez Musharraf over the Akbar Bugti murder case.
"Interpol's NCB have not received any request for issuance of red warrants against General (r) Pervez Musharraf in pursuance of a direction of the Balochistan High Court in the Akbar Bugti murder case," he told the Upper House of parliament on Tuesday.
According to the Daily Times, Malik stated this in the Senate in reply to a question by Senator Nawabzada Saifullah Magsi.
Baloch leader Bugti was killed when a shell exploded in his hideout on August 26, 2006.
His death was followed by rioting by thousands of students from the state-run Balochistan University and other balochs.
The Balochistan government has denied any role Bugti's assassination and claimed the entire operation was carried out solely on the orders of former army chief General Pervez Musharraf. (ANI)
