Juventus crush Udinese, Roma beat Inter

Italy,Sports, Mon, 03 Sep 2012 IANS

Rome, Sep 3 (IANS) Juventus and Roma scored spectacular away wins respectively beating Udinese and Inter in their Serie A football matches.

The Old Lady's 4-1 win at Udinese were aided by the 14th-minute dismissal of goalkeeper Zeljko Brkic and Arturo Vidal scored from the resulting penalty. Mirko Vucinic made it 2-0 on the stroke of half-time here Sunday, reports Xinhua.

Sebastian Giovinco killed off any chance for the hosts to come back as he scored twice in the second half. Andrea Lazzari grabbed a consolation for the Bianconeri.

Roma turned out unstoppable before Inter. They went ahead in the 15th minute through Alessandro Florenzi, and Antonio Cassano equalized for the hosts in the first-half stoppage with a deflected shot. Daniel Osvaldo restored Roma's lead midway through the second half and Marquinho added a sumptuous winner 10 minutes from time.

Inter head coach Andrea Stramaccioni saw "a psychological problem" in his side's performance.

"I didn't like the drop in intensity after we went 2-1 down. In that moment we had the game in hand and started the second half really well, but Pablo Osvaldo's goal on that great Francesco Totti assist found us unprepared," he said.

"We didn't do well in that phase of the match and I think it was more of a psychological problem than a football one," he said.

Lazio beat Palermo 3-0 to chalk up two wins from as many matches.

Napoli also maintained that record following a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina.

Sampdoria continued to enjoy life back in the top flight as they beat Siena 2-1. Francesco Lodi's late free-kick ensured that Catania beat Genoa 3-2 at the Stadio Angelo Massimino.

Parma got their campaign up and running at the second attempt with a 2-0 victory over Chievo. Cagliari and Atalanta shared the points in a 1-1 draw.
