Islamabad, Aug. 29 (ANI): Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said a targeted operation would soon be launched against terrorists in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), reiterating that criminals are moving towards GB fearing military operation in Waziristan.
Malik said that militants were being monitored via satellite in this area.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said the anti-Pakistan elements wanted to shatter peace and harmony in Gilgit-Baltistan, but people would foil their malicious designs.
Kaira said the recent trouble was not due to sectarian reasons, but it was terrorism aimed at destabilizing the area.
He said the government had been trying its best to resolve problems of the people.
"There will be no compromise on peace in Gilgit Baltistan. The federal government will extend full cooperation to the GB government in this regard," Kaira added. (ANI)
