Kathmandu, Aug 25 (IANS) At least three people died and an unknown number of people went missing as a boat with about 50 to 55 people on board capsized in the swollen Bagmati River in central Nepal Saturday, reported Xinhua citing local media.
According to eKantipur.com report, the jam-packed boat was coming towards Laxmipur Ghat of Rautahat district from Manpur of Sarahi district when it overturned at around 2:30 p.m. local time.
Two bodies were fished out from the swollen river, while one of the two people who were rescued died.
Security personnel and locals launched a search operation for the missing.
