Musharraf tells CEC to hold next polls under Army supervision

Islamabad, Aug 20 (ANI): Former Pakistan president General (retired) Pervez Musharraf has asked the Chief Election Commissioner to conduct the next general elections under the supervision of the armed forces.

The Daily Times quoted Musharraf, as saying that fair and transparent general elections would bring change in the country.

Musharraf had earlier said that general elections in Pakistan should be held under military supervision to ensure that sincere and clean representatives are elected. He added that his countrymen were again looking towards the military due to the deteriorating situation of the economy, and law and order in the country.

Musharraf had also said that he would return to Pakistan before the general elections, adding that his party in particular and the public in general is anxiously waiting for his return, and that his party will actively participate in the upcoming general elections. (ANI)
